A long time ago, when I was still working the sales room at TruGree-ChemLawn (yes, I actually went to the trouble of spelling and capitalizing it correctly... ... God, I'm such a geek >_<
, Gaby did a motivational pic of a female Pegasus as a cheerleader. The caption she put at the bottom of the pic was "Go! Go! Just one more!" The latter half of that phrase happened to be spoken quite often in the sales room, so this was her way of making fun of the sales manager and their so-called "motivational tactics".
Well, after a while of staring at this pic (and getting a good chuckle out of it each time, I might add), I decided I'd give a shot at drawing her myself. I still think Gaby's version was better. But, I can't say it wasn't worth the attempt at least. This is one of the most recent hand-colored pieces I've done (which ain't sayin' much as this is a 3 year old pic at this point). And, lemme tellya... rendering grass... I don't recommend it to this level of detail unless you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time over the course of about 24 hours or so. : P
It didn't actually take me that long. But, it sure as hell felt like it. >_<
Charette and Prismacolor markers for base colors. Caran D'ache colored pencils for color blending.
