First of Sunday night's two sketches. I wanted to draw :iconamtrak:'s Lady Liberty character solo first so I could get used to her costume details.... Yeah, that's it...

As is plainly obvious, I concentrated on her specifically. ;)

I know her pose looks a bit wonky at first. I actually did that deliberately. Was aiming to make her look just the slightest like she's "squirming", which is just not something you'd see a superhero doing. They're supposed to be the picture of composure after all.

Now, I'm not sure if this will go past this initial stage, as I haven't heard back from :iconamtrak: to see if this fits in with the idea he was looking for, yet. Who knows? I might have to practice with her more. ... oh darn. ;)

As for other details.... That shield needs some serious work. Gonna see what I can do about making that pop a bit more. I can't seem to give it that slightly domed effect properly, and I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong there.

Otherwise, I'm not too terribly unhappy with this as a final sketch. :)

Neat! I can see the twist of her muzzle - that kind of "what the hell are you thinking over there" look. Sometimes the background helps pull a scene together too (okay all the time, but we're talking Character poses - pin ups). To that end, yours rocks. From the bed(?) in the corner to the picture on the wall with the leg coming down - it gives this lady an actual world to be in, and I love that about your pictures.

Now here's a question - what do you think about the equine/bovine anthros - hooved feet or not? Lady Liberty here surely has a humanistic foot in that high heel, but the painting on the wall depicts a horse hoof. Does this mean you have no pref, or maybe like them both? Perhaps there are non-anthro horses on the Lady's world and we only see just this smidgeon.

So, yes, a great picture. You get my writer's mind thinking about the possibilities.

Looks good. I like to see Lady Liberty, something about recognizable characters. Straight-on shots are difficult with horses but it looks good.
